The Kane9 Story
ABOUT ME: I’m Kaitlin Kane Stankowski, founder and lead trainer at KANE9 Dog Training & Advocacy. I live in Madison, WI with my husband Casey and our dog, Rhody. At KANE9, we follow a permission-based training technique designed to give dog owners the tools they need to create a balanced and gratifying relationship with their canine family members. We have success implementing and communicating with dogs using tools like slip leads, prong collars, e-collars, body pressure and appropriate praise, all of which are designed to establish healthy boundaries and structure for your dog. We make things clear for the dogs, "no" means no and 'yes" means yes, we do not leave them in a gray area, as it is our job to lead them. With over five years of hands-on experience working with dogs, I am confident we can help address the challenges you’d like to overcome.
WHY DOG TRAINING? My maiden name is Kane, which I’ll always be strongly connected to. KANE9 represents where my passions stem from - my family & canines. My love for dogs started when I was very young. If there was a dog around, people knew where to find me. It wasn’t until I spent three years volunteering at the Humane Society in my hometown that I recognized my true passion for dogs. My time was spent walking dogs of all breeds and temperaments and observing their behaviors and instincts. It opened my eyes and made me aware of the need to advocate for our dogs and give them the guidance to succeed. Loving a dog means more than providing affection, praise, food & shelter, something I didn’t understand until I became a dog owner myself.
QUALIFICATIONS: We are confident that we can help you and your dog. In addition to training my own dog, Rhody, I have dedicated the past four years continuing my education of canine behavior and training techniques. Here are a few examples of how I’ve grown my professional qualifications over the last few years:
Shadowed nationally renowned dog trainer, Jeremy Majors of Majors Academy Dog Training & Rehabilitation, for over a year, working hands on with the dogs in his program.
Had a working spot at Jeff Gellman's, of Solid K9 Training, RV Dog Training Seminar, a comprehensive training seminar focusing primarily on dog behavior, obedience, and how to stop unwanted behaviors.
Shadowed Julie Barber & Josh Hurlburt in Frederick, MD at their Board and Train facility, Julie's K9 Academy.
Personal development and education at my finger tips! There's endless amounts of amazing content and workshops provided by expert professionals in the industry.
In October 2018, I attended Train the Trainers (T3), a 7-day, 80-hour, hands-on dog training seminar with three of the best trainers in the country.
There is nothing greater than hands on experience. The beauty of working with dogs is that they are all different and each dog teaches you something knew. We will never stop learning and furthering our education.
